New Museum Displays Art and Artifacts of Sichuan Province
The new Sichuan Provincial Museum opened recently in Chengdu, in Sichuan Province, featuring three floors encompassing dozens of galleries, according to GoChengdoo.com.
The offerings of new museum at 251 South Huanhua Road in Chengdu include such noted items as reproductions of the Dumhuang frescoes by 20th century Sichuanese painter Zhang Daqian, 5,000-year-old pottery, Tibetan artifacts and jewelry, clothing and musical instruments from minority groups in Sichuan, located in southwest China at the western edge of the Sichuan Basin.
Go Chengdoo, an English-language news and feature site, says audio tours in Chinese and English are available and the vast majority of signs are in Chinese and English, with some also displaying Japanese and Korean.
Giant Egg Vies For Guinness Record
It appears a very ordinary hen in China’s Heilongjiang Province has laid a very extraordinary egg that its owner says deserves a place in the Guinness World Records.
