Mark your calendars for a can’t-miss event: GlobaLinks Learning Abroad and travel partner STA Travel are hosting a motivating “Pen & Podium” presentation and cocktail reception for conference attendees on April 4 in Chicago in conjunction with the 2013 Forum Conference.

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad has invited Erik Deckers, author of “Branding Yourself,” to speak about his book and network with the company’s partners at this year’s Forum Conference. Deckers’ book is a key component of the Personal Brand Discovery Toolbox provided to students who participate in a GlobaLinks Learning Abroad internship abroad program.

The unique event will combine a short author’s talk with networking and cocktails to provide each guest with an opportunity to learn and grow while helping students do the same.

“We believe the student’s development of a clearly defined personal brand – and the ability to enunciate this brand to an employer -  contributes to the development of more employable graduates,” said Barbara West, assistant director of internship programs for GlobaLinks Learning Abroad. “We also know that everyone – not just students – can benefit from Erik’s wisdom and learn to apply his top recommendations for personal branding to achieve success in the professional world.”

Please note: The event is open to Forum conference attendees and others involved in the education abroad field.

A formal invite and RSVP will be sent to partners of GlobaLinks Learning Abroad.

In addition, the first 150 people in the door will get a free copy of Erik’s book, to be signed by the author during the event, and will be entered in a drawing for a $500 flight voucher courtesy of STA Travel.
