GlobaLinks Learning Abroad congratulates Deborah Morrison, director of marketing, who was recently named one of the “Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals in Colorado” and featured on the cover of ColoradoBIZ magazine.

Deborah Morrison, Director of Marketing, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad

The “Top 25” list reflects men and women ages 21 to 39 who are creating game-changing technologies, business strategies, products and services that will shape the next generation of business and grow jobs and commerce in the Colorado economy.

“Being a good leader is about trust and integrity,” Morrison says in the ColoradoBIZ article. “You have to provide the right amount of direction and encourage ownership – and then let go.”

Morrison, 35, joined GlobaLinks Learning Abroad in 2001 as a marketing assistant, which led to positions as senior coordinator of special projects, and manager of marketing design. In her current role as marketing director, Morrison oversees the marketing strategy for the organization, a team of six marketing managers and six student interns, the development and management of six web sites and more than 3,000 pages of content. A member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators since 2005, Morrison serves on the Studio Abroad Advisory Board for Terra Dotta, a software company serving the needs of international education offices.

With a deep passion for the natural environment and sustainability issues, Morrison spearheaded GlobaLinks Learning Abroad’s partnership with the Colorado Carbon Fund to reduce the impact of emissions of student overseas travel. She also serves on the City of Lafayette’s Energy and Sustainability Advisory Committee and previously was on the WISE (Women in Sustainable Energy) maturation committee.
